Tournament Rules

1. Overview

Hyzerleague is a disc golf fantasy game where users build a team of six professional players (four MPO, two FPO) within a set budget. Players score points based on their real-life performance in PDGA-sanctioned tournaments, and users compete to earn the highest fantasy score.

Each tournament is a standalone event, meaning no scores, players, or budgets carry over between weeks. Users are free to modify their lineup as many times as they want before the tournament starts.

2. Team Selection & Budget System

  • Each user is given a 10M budget to build a team of six players.
  • Player prices are dynamic but remain locked once a tournament registration opens. Prices adjust after the event for future tournaments.
  • Users can modify their lineup until the tournament’s registration closes, after which selections are final.

3. Scoring System

Players earn or lose fantasy points based on their real-life performance in the tournament. See the scoring section for details on how fantasy points are calculated.

4. Withdrawals, No-Shows & Player Replacements

  • If a player withdraws (WD) or does not start (DNS) before the tournament begins, Hyzerleague will automatically replace them.
  • Automatic replacements occur when the fantasy tournament registration closes at the latest, i.e. 10 minutes before the first scheduled tee time of the day.
  • The system selects a replacement based on closest available price. If no player is available at that price, the next cheapest option is chosen.
  • If a player withdraws after this 10-minute cutoff, the user will not receive a replacement and must continue with one less active player.
  • If a player withdraws after the tournament has started, no replacements will be made, and fantasy points remain as recorded.

5. Tiebreakers

If two or more users have the exact same fantasy score, the following tiebreakers apply, in order:

  1. Most Budget Left Over – The user who spent the least on their team wins.
  2. Most Birdies or Better – The user whose selected players made the most birdies, eagles, albatrosses, and aces wins.
  3. Fewest Bogeys or Worse – The user whose selected players had the fewest bogeys, double bogeys, or worse wins.
  4. Best overall score (under par) – If all other categories are tied among users, the final deciding factor will be the total score under par for all selected players on your team.

In the event that two or more users have identical teams and points — including the same captain — the user who created their team first (based on timestamps) will have the advantage when determining the prize winner.

We recognize this as a known issue and are actively working on a solution to introduce more variation in team-building, ensuring these rare occurrences are minimized in the future.

6. Tournament & Round Cancellations (Force Majeure)

In the case of unforeseen circumstances (e.g., weather delays, PDGA rulings, tournament cancellations), the following rules apply:

  • If an entire tournament is canceled, all fantasy results will be voided.
  • If certain rounds are canceled, final results will always be determined by the official PDGA leaderboard.
    • If PDGA includes scores from partially played rounds, Hyzerleague will do the same.
    • If PDGA ignores those holes, Hyzerleague will also ignore them.
  • Users cannot claim refunds or point adjustments based on canceled rounds – official PDGA results are final.

7. Playoffs & Sudden Death Rules

  • Playoff holes count as normal for fantasy points.
    • Example: If a player makes a birdie in sudden death, it adds fantasy points just like in regulation play.
  • Final placements are based on official PDGA results.
    • Example: If a player is tied for second but loses a playoff and finishes third, Hyzereague recognizes the final third-place result.

8. Scoring Disputes & Data Accuracy

  • All scoring data is sourced from official PDGA statistics.
  • Users have 48 hours after a tournament ends to dispute a scoring issue.
  • Once scores are finalized based on official PDGA results, no further changes will be made, even if PDGA later updates results.

9. Fair Play & Cheating Prevention

Hyzerleague is committed to fair play and competitive integrity. Any attempt to gain an unfair advantage may result in penalties, including:

  • Account suspension
  • Refusal to pay out prizes
  • Permanent ban from future contests

The following actions are strictly prohibited:

  • Multiple accounts per person
  • Exploiting game mechanics or bugs
  • Using insider information not publicly available

Hyzerleague reserves the right to review and update these rules at any time to maintain fair competition.

10. Winning a prize

As of February 23, 2025, prizes can only be won by players with a permanent address in Finland. However, this will change in a few weeks, allowing all players to become eligible to win merchandise and prizes through Hyzerleague’s free tournaments.
